Acerca deWORKING ON EARTH DAY 2022
2022 is the first Mother Earth Day celebrated within the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. Ecosystems support all life on Earth. We need to move towards healthier ecosystems. Restoring our damaged ecosystems will help to end poverty, combat climate change and prevent mass extinction. But we will only succeed if everyone plays a part.
For this International Mother Earth Day, let's remind ourselves - more than ever - that we need a shift to a more sustainable economy that works for both people and the planet. Let’s promote harmony with nature and the Earth. Join the global movement to restore our world!

At IES Cerro del Viento our Bilingual community has been working on different aspects to raise awareness on the importance of restoring and protecting sustainable ecosystems, taking a closer look at our territory.
Biology bilingual teachers and students of 1ºESO have been working on this topic and have prepared the exposition “Earth Day2022, endangered species in Andalucía”
Students have worked on research about endangered animals in Andalusia, mostly aquatic ones, to show how important the protection and preservation of our environment is for a sustainable future.
Groups of students have made creative mock-ups of invertebrates naming the main parts of body structures of different species such as jellyfish, octopus, sponges, worms, crustaceans, insects The exposition will be visited by students and content will be shared on awareness campaigns at school and will be shared on our eTwinning Project “Research and Conservation of Biodiversity and Climate”
A big thank you to the Bilingual section of our Biology and Geology Department teachers Elisa Montero and Julia Rodríguez as well as to our students Angela, Chiara, María, Ana and other collaborators
